All Change! 2010 has already been a year of serious change. With a new Business Coach on-board, and Sue our bookkeeper taking on much of the administration overhead, we've already greatly improved efficiency. However, another new milestone passed by a couple of weeks ago. Matthew Whitney joined our team as a full-time engineer. He will take a little time to get up to speed but has already shown himself to be diligent, resourceful and conscientious. Customers have already sung his praises. Another first for Computer Solutions - we have signed a lease on new premises! This will be a shop/workshop/office based just a short distance away in Caterham-On-the-Hill. Details are yet to be finalised, but it is expected that we will open early in May. March 2010 has also been our busiest month EVER! We have four server installs, office moves, telephone system installation and al our usual gamut of supply, repairs, upgrades etc. Lucky we've got an extra pair of hands...! Charities As most of our customers know - we have become experts at supplying cost-effective solutions to charities and educational establishments. We can offer preferential licensing from most software houses (including Microsoft and Symantec). Remote Access Our new Remote Access facility has been very successful. Any computer that is connected to the Internet can be accessed by us (at your request and control) to offer support and assistance. This is the same type of system used by the big-end companies. The remote access computer needs to have an Internet connection (does not matter about firewalls, NAT or other control systems) and either Internet Explorer (or equivalent) OR working email. There is a nominal charge for each connection (and, depending upon situation, there may be a time charge as well). This means that wherever possible we now no longer need to travel on-site to deal with many problems. It can be used with Windows XP, Windows Vista and even Macs! DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU MUST NOW HAVE CERTAIN DETAILS ON YOUR EMAIL AND WEB SITE? From January 1st 2007 it is understood that all company websites must contain registration details, and also emails must contain certain details. This may have an impact on all customers who have websites or use email for business (everyone!). However, these changes can generally be implemented very cheaply. Business Networking - We belong to a Business Networking group. It has brought in a substantial amount of new business.
